Dakantala is a meditation on the circular nature of life and death. The video takes place on a beach with the performer interacting with a wooden door. The door acts as a metaphoric portal into the past and future, which the performer can carry, lay on, run around and disappear into. The video is shot at a slow shutter speed resulting in a grainy and blurry image in order to bring the actions outside of the realm of the everyday and into a subconscious space. Accompanying the image is the sound of the wind, water and seashells.
